William was an agent of Sir William Johnson , for estate granted to his father. They lived at the "Mansion House", the McCreight family home, and all children born at Gilford. There is a mural monument in Tullylish Church, which states that it was erected "by a grateful tenancy as a tribute of the respect and gratitude for his kindness and humanity to them as Agent and Landlord". In 1861 Jane sold the "Mansion House" and moved to Dublin, where she died 1873 age 92 and bur at Mount Jerome Cemetery.
